ArthaLand shares sold

THE EXPORT and Industry Bank, Inc. (Exportbank) said it sold shares in boutique-developer ArthaLand Corp. (ArthaLand) to four corporate buyers.

In separate disclosures to the stock exchange, Exportbank and ArthaLand said: “Exportbank sold its shareholdings in ArthaLand equivalent to a total of 981,699,819 common shares” to four entities.

The shares were sold at a price of 0.181 centavos apiece.

The stocks were sold to the following entities: Edimax Investment Ltd. (296.46 million shares); Kinstar Investment Ltd. (94.72 million shares); Viplus Investment Ltd. (247.90 million shares); Nanlong Investment Ltd. (342.62 million shares).

Exportbank Asst. Corporate Secretary Riva Khristine V. Maala, in a phone interview, declined to say why the bank’s shares in ArthaLand were sold saying: “We are not at liberty to disclose.”

ArthaLand officials, meanwhile, were not available for comment yesterday.

BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO), the country’s largest in terms of assets, is in the process of finalizing its acquisition of Exportbank.

PDIC gave its green light for the transaction last April 12. The, Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, meanwhile, approved the deal in principle on July 16, 2010.

BDO and Exportbank is still waiting for the central bank’s final approval for the purchase.

ArthaLand, formerly known as EIB Realty Developers, Inc., was incorporated in 1994 for the purpose of engaging in property development of residential, commercial, leisure, and industrial project.

ArthaLand shares closed at 0.189 centavos yesterday, 2.27% or 0.005 centavos higher than their 0.184 centavos close last Friday. -- Ann Rozainne R. Gregorio

the key to trading success is to focus on how much money is at risk, not how much money you can make.

trading is simple, but it's not easy. if you want to stay in the business, leave hope at the door, focus on specific setups, and stick to your stops.
