Tanduay Holdings, Inc., (TDY), formerly known as Asian Pacific Equity Corporation (APEC), was incorporated on May 27, 1937 under the name The Manila Wine Merchants, Inc. On November 10, 1999, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the change in the Company's corporate name to Tanduay Holdings, Inc.

TDY is 97%-owned by Tangent Holdings Corporation (THC). In November 2008, TDY and THC entered into a deed of assignment of shares and assumption of liability wherein the Company assigned all of its shareholdings (500 million shares) in Unimark Investments (SPV-AMC) Corporation (Unimark) to THC subject to the assumption by THC of the Company's obligation to Unimark amounting to P837.1 million. With the sale of Unimark, which is engaged in special purpose vehicle-asset management company operations, TDY, through its subsidiaries, is now solely engaged in the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages.

TDY is a holding company with interests in the liquor and distillery businesses through its subsidiaries and affiliates. The Company's subsidiaries are Tanduay Distillers, Inc. (TDI), Tanduay Holdings, Inc. (THI) and Tanduay Brands International, Inc. TDI's subsidiaries are composed of Asian Alcohol Corporation and Absolut Distillers, Inc.

Exchange will implement a one hour trading halt on TDY shares today, October 27, 2011, which will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will be lifted at 10:00 a.m.

Tanduay allots P1.8 billion for factory upgrades

Tanduay profits tumble in Q3
LIQUOR PRODUCER Tanduay Holdings, Inc. saw profits drop by 16.46% to P289.9 million in the third quarter versus yearago levels on the back of higher costs and weaker sales, a disclosure to the local bourse on Friday showed.

The firm’s net sales was flat at P2.94 billion for July to September compared with the P2.91 billion recorded in the same period last year.

Cost of goods sold meanwhile was up by roughly a tenth to P2.27 billion from last year’s P2.06 billion, the company said.

Earlier, the company reported a 60% growth in its January to September net income to P885 million over yearago levels.
