Centro Escolar University (CEU), an institution of higher learning established in 1907 by Librada Avelino and Carmen de Luna, was incorporated on March 31, 1932. CEU is committed to the furtherance of its founders' philosophy, Ciencia y Virtud (knowledge and virtue), and aims to cultivate the mind, the spirit, and the body for service to God, country and the family. CEU caters to the B-C class of the population.


CEU offers comprehensive training and development through its wide variety of college and graduate courses in the fields of Commerce, Science and the Arts, such as Dentistry, Optometry, Music, Public Administration and Education. One program in CEU-Manila has a Level 4 accredited status. Twelve of CEU's programs in Mendiola and three in Malolos are enjoying Level 3 accredited status, while another two programs in Mendiola are on Level 2 accredited status. These programs have been accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation and the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities as certified by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines.


On June 10, 2008, CEU established its wholly-owned subsidiary, Centro Escolar University Hospital, Inc. (CEUHI) to provide healthcare services and education and training facilities in the furtherance of the health-related professions. As of March 31, 2010, CEUHI has not yet started operations.

Listed schools post mixed Q3


TWO LISTED schools yesterday posted mixed results for July to September, with Far Eastern University (FEU) enjoying gains from higher tuition revenues and lower costs while Centro Escolar University (CEU) saw profits fall.

Listed schools report growth

LISTED SCHOOLS Far East University, Inc. (FEU) and Central Escolar University (CEU) both reported double-digit profit growth for the April to December period last year, separate filings to the local bourse showed last week.
