Cost average and 3 year vesting period
#1
Our company here in middle east is encouraging us to buy shares at current market price with the following offer.

Before you can participate in the Share Matching Plan, you must acquire your shares via a 1-year Monthly Investment Plan¹: During the Offering Period, you commit to an amount you want to invest each month. Over the following year (an investment period of 12 calendar months), this amount will be deducted from your salary every month and invested in (fractional) shares. The purchase price for these shares will be the XETRA closing price on the 10th trading day of the month following the payroll deduction. For non-Eurozone countries, purchase prices will be converted into your local currency using the exchange rate of the same date.

Example: You decide to invest €100 per month. The share price in the first month is €40, so you purchase 2.5 shares (€100/€40). The share price rises to €45 in the second month, so you acquire 2.222 shares (€100/€45). Therefore, after two months you would own 4.722 shares.

After the 1-year investment period, the shares will be transferred to the next tranche of the Share Matching Plan (if offered). The 3-year vesting period of the Share Matching Plan begins at that time. If you keep your shares until the end of the vesting period, you will receive 1 matching share for every 3 shares you hold, subject to the conditions of the Share Matching Plan.

Is it a good offer?
