BUSINESS PROFILE

Atok-Big Wedge Company, Inc. (AB), formerly Atok Big Wedge Mining Co., Inc., was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 4, 1931. Since its incorporation, the Company engaged in mining as its primary purpose, producing gold as its major product and silver as a by-product.

Although AB changed its primary purpose in 1996 from mining to general investment, it reverted back to its original purpose of engaging in exploration and development of mining, oil, gas, and other natural resources when it amended its articles of incorporation, which was approved by the SEC on May 24, 2010. AB has two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Atok Gold Mining Co., Inc. and AB Stock Transfers Corporation.

In November 2009, Boerstar Corporation, a Philippine holding company, became the controlling and majority shareholder of AB. At present, AB is exploring the possibility of entering into a business venture with local and foreign entities to maximize the potential of its mineral properties and to enhance its earnings in the very near future. It will abide by the principle of sustainable and socially acceptable mineral resources development.

Ongpin firm buys stake in Reed Bank gas search

Atok-Big Wedge Co. Inc., a company controlled by former Trade Minister Roberto V. Ongpin, has acquired a Hong Kong-based company which holds an indirect stake in the oil and gas block located on the Recto Bank (formerly Reed Bank).

Atok-Big Wedge said it acquired full ownership of Tidemark Holdings Ltd., which owns 25.92 percent of Forum Energy Plc, a UK-based firm that is the operator of Service Contract 72.

Other stakeholders of Forum Energy include Philex Mining, which through its interests in FEC Resources Inc. and Philex Petroleum, controls 64.45 percent of the company’s capital.

Forum Energy owns a 70 percent equity interest in the SC 72 license, which covers an 8,800 sq km located offshore West Palawan in the West Philippine Sea.

Last month, Mannuel Pangilanan, chairman of Philex Mining, earlier said that Philex may eventually seek partner in oil and gas exploration at the SC 72.

He said the company may need the help of foreign firms in funding the project and in providing technical expertise.

Pangilinan earlier said the company would need to spend at least $86 million for the development of the service contract

He said the current work program at SC 72 calls for the drilling of an appraisal well and an exploration well.

SC 72 yielded gas shows when it was first explored in the 1970s but the deposits were considered non-commercial at the time.

the key to trading success is to focus on how much money is at risk, not how much money you can make.

trading is simple, but it's not easy. if you want to stay in the business, leave hope at the door, focus on specific setups, and stick to your stops.

While already stating the obvious, massive cross sales with this stock recently. Mukang magaan pa yung sell side so... If some medium-sized stock jocks decide to hit it up, don't lose your cool and try to chase.

Sabi na pipitikin eh. It's nice to know I can still see these kinds of plays a mile away. Good luck sa treacherous game of musical chairs dito.
